Joachim presents Brain-Switch 2.0™, an innovative approach to resolving trauma and emotional issues. Having witnessed Joachim’s skilled application of these techniques firsthand, I can attest to their effectiveness. What sets Brain-Switch 2.0™ apart is its seamless integration of neuroscience, the limbic system, memory reconsolidation, and NLP principles.
Three key takeaways are:
1. The power of establishing internal agreements for change. Joachim emphasizes the importance of aligning conscious and unconscious motivations, creating a solid foundation for transformation. This resonates deeply with my own experiences in change work.
2. The effectiveness of releasing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic memories associated with trauma. By gently guiding individuals to let go of these sensory components, Joachim demonstrates how we can deactivate the amygdala’s hyper-reactivity and allow the prefrontal cortex to take the lead.
3. The potential for rapid, lasting change. The case studies showcase the remarkable results that can be achieved in just one or a few sessions using Brain-Switch 2.0™. Joachim’s clients experience newfound clarity, freedom from the grip of the past, and enhanced relationships.
As you embark on this transformative journey with Brain-Switch 2.0™, know that you are in the hands of a true master. I believe Brain-Switch 2.0™ will become an essential tool for therapists and a lifeline for those struggling with emotional pain. Joachim’s contribution to the field of change work is truly remarkable, and I am grateful for our friendship and the opportunity to support his mission.

After receiving one session of Brain Switch 2.0, I notice that it has become easier to separate what i feel and how I react; I might (still) get angry/frustrated inside because of something, but i no longer let that influence how I behave and express so strongly.
Another thing I noticed is that it has become easier to stop eating when I’m full, rather than blindly finishing my plate.
As such, I’m really happy with the session that Joachim gave me.

I was suggested by my school counsellor to have a session with Joachim Lee after i had a sudden mental health crisis (suicide attempt + cPTSD diagnosis) that left me almost unable to cope with daily life or my studies. Without having any expectations, and suicidal, I attended my first session, and for the first time, i felt much lighter than i did previously. I could actually think further than just one day, and with a second session, i started to have hope again. The methods taught to me have allowed me to graduate from university, as well as seen me through interviews without any anxiety or breakdowns. I am forever grateful for Joachim Lee, as without his expertise, I would not have been able to reach so far, and continue to reach higher from here on.

I was surprised how a simple visualisation process could help me come to peace with what had been, no matter how painful it was. It is like the movie Matrix, choosing which reality to delete and which to create. The core message that I got from this Brain Switch experience is that: I can only control and change myself. One good example is taking things too personally; when I understood that others’ rejection of my connection with them has nothing to do with me but their choice in not seeing the value of it, peace flowed into me. My head was twitching a lot while my system was eliminating a lot of outdated beliefs. And the back of my head felt sore for a while and then it disappeared. I had a lot of dreams later that night but I can’t remember, I just woke up today feeling different. Thank you Dawn. Beyond words.

During the ReAttach training, I had the opportunity to experience a Brain-Switch 2.0 session.
Growing up, failure or making mistakes felt unsafe due to childhood trauma. As a result, whenever I made even the smallest mistake, I would ruminate on it for days, feeling like I was losing someone, being kicked out, in danger, or about to be hurt.
During the ReAttach training, I had to present something and completely forgot the main point. While I knew there were no real consequences, my inner critic immediately fired up, and the ruminating began.
After the Brain-Switch 2.0 session, I woke up one night remembering the event. But this time, there was no emotion or rumination attached. It felt as though the primal feelings had been disconnected. On the last day of the training, I made a few more mistakes, but the old pattern of immediate overwhelm and rumination didn’t take over.
My life will be so much easier now! I am incredibly grateful for this experience and so inspired that I would love to learn this method for myself.
What the Brain-Switch 2.0 practicitioners say
Sanjeevi Fernando, Counsellor
“As a therapist, I find Brain-Switch 2.0 (BrS2.0) to be an invaluable tool in my practice. It allows me to help my clients without delving into the traumatic details of their past. This is particularly important as it prevents clients from reliving painful moments and retelling their distressing stories. Instead, BrS2.0 provides a path to healing without retraumatization, making it a safer, more compassionate option for those struggling with deep-seated pain.
What I appreciate most about BrS2.0 is how it engages the client in the process. It encourages them to be an active participant in their healing journey, fostering empowerment and promoting goal achievement. By guiding them through the process, clients gain more control over their decisions and their future outcomes.
As clinicians, we recognize that the client is the expert of their own life, and we support their ability to make choices for themselves. BrS2.0 perfectly aligns with this belief by restoring autonomy to clients who may have previously felt powerless. For many of my clients who have experienced abuse or control by authoritative figures, BrS2.0 helps them reclaim their voice and independence.
By the end of the process, clients celebrate their progress and embrace their new, empowered identity. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them step into their newfound sense of self, armed with the confidence to make choices and move forward in their lives.”
Eunice Tan, Psychotherapist, Attachment & Trauma Therapist
One of the standout benefits of Brain-Switch 2.0 (BrS2.0) is how it strengthens the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client through collaboration and play. The process is deeply cooperative, with both the therapist and client working in tandem to establish the necessary agreements for change. It’s a partnership where we are not just guiding but truly co-creating the healing journey together.
The first step of BrS2.0 is the creation of the client’s ‘Picture A’—a visualization of their ideal future self, free from the burdens of the issue they are facing. This is an exciting, imaginative part of the process where both therapist and client contribute, fostering a sense of teamwork right from the start. As we move step by step through the process, I provide guidance while the client uses their imagination to bring about profound internal shifts.
One of the aspects that truly sets BrS2.0 apart is that it’s also a form of therapeutic play for adults. Many clients enjoy the playful nature of creating and transforming their ‘bin,’ a symbolic space where they discard unwanted memories, and building a ‘treasure chest’ to hold their hopes and dreams. It’s incredible to see how creative some clients get during this part of the process. Their imaginations often surprise me.
I love that the therapeutic process can be infused with humor and lightness. I engage with my clients’ imagination by actively participating—getting up from my chair to ‘move’ the bin, for example, or reminding them not to destroy me along with their discarded memories. We often share a laugh during these moments, which adds a special layer to our connection and strengthens the therapeutic alliance. Instead of bonding through shared pain, we bond through creative play.
Clients can sometimes feel isolated in their healing process, believing they must do all the heavy lifting on their own. BrS2.0 changes that dynamic, allowing me to be a part of their healing journey in an uplifting and enjoyable way for both of us. It fosters a sense of mutual support and engagement that is deeply enriching.”
Nathanael Seers Ong, Founder and Principal Therapist @ Daseti
“The efficacy of Brain-Switch 2.0 (BrS2.0) lies in its remarkable ability to facilitate profound changes in patients’ memories through the process of memory reconsolidation. As a practitioner, I am deeply appreciative of Joachim Lee’s generous contribution in sharing this innovative approach. BrS2.0 has seamlessly integrated into the eclectic framework of my private practice, adding versatility and depth to the therapeutic interventions I offer.
One of the most striking aspects of BrS2.0 is its power to address severe phobias. I’ve seen distress levels reduce dramatically, often from a SUDS (Subjective Units of Distress Scale) rating of 9 to 3 within just a single session. This immediate relief is nothing short of transformative. Beyond phobias, BrS2.0 has demonstrated significant success in treating smoking addiction, trauma, anger management, and a variety of other challenges. What I find particularly inspiring is how clients tap into their own creativity and ability to rewire their own outcomes. This process often becomes a learning experience for me as well, highlighting the truly collaborative nature of this therapeutic approach.
As an eclectic practitioner, I’ve also found ways to synergize BrS2.0 with other modalities, such as Hypnotherapy. During the final step of the BrS2.0 process, when the transition from the Left Hemisphere to the Right Hemisphere occurs and the client’s eyes naturally close, a trance-like state often emerges. This presents an ideal opportunity to incorporate hypnotherapy techniques, such as ego-strengthening and targeted suggestions, which help further reinforce the desired changes. Metaphorically speaking, it is like embedding a precious treasure deep within the unconscious mind, ensuring lasting impact.
To support sustained progress, I encourage clients to engage in nightly self-reinforcement by visualizing a specific image (such as ‘Picture A’) before sleep. This practice helps solidify the changes in the subconscious mind, fostering a more grounded and evolutionary transformation.
Over the past year, combining BrS2.0 with Hypnotherapy and incorporating nightly visualizations has yielded significant results for numerous clients. The consistent positive outcomes underscore the potential of BrS2.0 as a powerful tool in therapeutic practice, offering real hope and tangible progress for individuals seeking meaningful, lasting change.”
Dr Carol Ong, Scientific Hypnotherapist, Coach & Media Personality; Holds the Malaysia Book of Records as the first Certified Brain-Switch 2.0™ Practitioner
I regularly practice Brain Switch 2.0™ on myself, especially every night before bed. This technique helps me enhance my mental state, release stress, and recharge in a unique way. It has become an essential part of my routine, allowing me to clear my mind, reset my emotions, and prepare for the next day with renewed energy and focus.
When I guide my clients through the Brain Switch 2.0™ process, they are often amazed at how quickly it works. At first, they find it surprising that such a rapid method can bring about noticeable changes. However, once they experience the results—feeling more balanced, calm, and mentally refreshed—they understand its true power. Many of them come back expressing how transformative it has been in their daily lives.
Brain Switch 2.0™ is not just about relaxation; it’s a powerful tool for mental resilience and emotional well-being. The speed of the process does not diminish its effectiveness; in fact, it enhances it. By quickly shifting mental states, individuals can break free from negative thought patterns, reduce anxiety, and regain a sense of control over their emotions.
One of the things I love most about this practice is witnessing the immediate impact it has on people. Whether they come in feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or emotionally drained, by the end of a session, they often describe feeling lighter, more present, and even energized. Some have said it feels like a mental reset button—allowing them to move forward with greater clarity and peace of mind.
Personally, I’ve found that incorporating Brain Switch 2.0™ into my nightly routine has significantly improved my overall well-being. It has taught me how to manage stress more effectively, stay emotionally balanced, and maintain a positive mindset even in challenging situations.
For those who are new to Brain Switch 2.0™, I always encourage them to keep an open mind. While the process is simple and fast, its effects can be profound. The mind is incredibly powerful, and when we learn how to guide it effectively, we unlock a new level of personal growth and transformation.

Kara Lee-Wong, Psychotherapist
“What I love most about Brain-Switch 2.0 (BrS2.0) is how clients are able to instill hope in and by themselves, with the therapist’s facilitation. In therapy, especially with clients who have experienced trauma, depression, or suicidal thoughts, the most basic goal is often to help them catch even a glimpse of hope for their future. What’s truly special about BrS2.0 is that this hope is not imposed by the therapist or told to the client—it comes naturally through the process, with all the details of hope and transformation being provided by the clients themselves.
I had a client in his early 20s who came to me with suicidal thoughts. After working through the Brain-Switch process, I watched as his eyes literally lit up with hope as he began to envision his wishes and dreams. This shift came after he was able to discard years of negative self-talk, which had been shaped by constant criticism he received growing up. It was deeply moving to witness him reconnecting with his sense of possibility.
Another client with anxiety found herself more emotionally regulated after using BrS2.0. She even started practicing it on her own and found it to be incredibly helpful in calming her mind.
BrS2.0 is multi-dimensional—addressing not only the past and present but also the future. This technique is incredibly empowering for the client, which aligns perfectly with my values and approach to helping those I work with. What I also love about Brain-Switch is that it taps into the creative side of the brain, offering some fun and lightness even amidst serious discussions of trauma. Multi-dimensional, indeed!”
Michell Tay, Counsellor, Hypnotherapist & Clinical Supervisor
“Using the Brain-Switch technique has enhanced my ability to stay grounded and adaptable as a counselor. As I witness the transformation in a client, age 28, from anxiety-driven states to calm and empowered mindsets, it reinforces my belief in the potential for change within every individual. With consistency, these transformations are deeply powerful. Additionally, the technique strengthens my own resilience as a counselor. By helping clients embrace a shift in perspective, I too am reminded to stay positive, resilient, and open-minded throughout the counseling process.
For the client, the process of switching from anxiety-ridden thinking to a more positive, calm, and self-empowered mindset is truly transformative. Initially, she was overwhelmed by negative thoughts that created a sense of helplessness or lack of control. Through Brain-Switch, she learned that her thoughts are not permanent and that she has the ability to actively shift her mental state. During our sessions, we focused on identifying and labeling the anxious thoughts causing distress. BrS2.0 helped her visualize her anxiety as an object—something tangible that she could remove or discard. Through guided imagery, she ‘threw away’ the anxiety and replaced it with a new, positive image of herself. This new image often involved visualizing herself as calm, confident, and in control—projecting these desired qualities with each mental shift.
Over time, the client has created new thinking patterns outside of our sessions. As she learned to pause, recognize, and replace negative thoughts with positive ones, her anxiety has reduced significantly, and she’s developed a stronger sense of self-worth. She began projecting a more positive image of herself, no longer defined by her anxieties but by her ability to control her mental and emotional responses. By the end of our work together, she felt empowered with tools to manage stress and negative thought patterns. She left our sessions with a deeper connection to her inner strength and a renewed sense of calm and optimism for the future.”
Yeo Chee Keong, Snr Counsellor
“My client was deeply impressed and grateful, sharing that the Brain-Switch experience not only amazed them but also helped shift their mindset from negativity to a more positive outlook. They shared that they made significant progress in overcoming their fears and pain, and now feel more confident in moving forward with their life.
I find Brain-Switch to be highly suitable, effective, and safe for clients who are seeking a fast therapeutic solution to deal with their traumatic memories, fears, and emotional pain, without having to recount their traumatic stories to the therapist. This aspect of BrS2.0 makes it a powerful and accessible tool for those who may find traditional therapy methods too overwhelming. BrS2.0 has definitely become one of my go-to tools in my therapeutic toolkit.”
Sapna Mathews, Lead Counsellor
“As a 14-year-old, I remember overthinking situations and being paralyzed by fear. It could be something as simple as ‘my friend is not going to sit with me for lunch,’ and that thought would replay in my head to the point where I couldn’t think of anything else. Then, I found a technique that helped me manage these overwhelming thoughts. I imagined a room with a big door that could be bolted shut. I would picture throwing that thought into the room and bolting the door so it couldn’t escape. If the thought came again, I would do the same.
Fast forward a few decades, and as a therapist, I learned Brain-Switch from Joachim. BrS2.0 operates on the premise that the mind can be trained to think less about worrying, negative thoughts, and more about empowering, positive ones. I’ve used it in sessions with clients who struggled to break through entrenched thought patterns and emotional barriers.
What I love about BrS2.0 is that it’s rooted in neuroscience, making it logically sound. It taps into the client’s own resources—creativity, cognition, and willpower—to create thought patterns that align with what they truly want in their life. And the beauty of the technique is that once clients learn it, they can use it independently in the future. It truly empowers them to take control of their thoughts and their lives.”
Tan Yi Shan, Psychotherapist & Corporate Wellness Trainer
“The beauty of Brain-Switch 2.0 lies in its deeply salutogenic (wellness-based) approach, which honors the innate resources and strengths inherent within each client. It is an instrumental tool for me to facilitate ‘stuck’ clients in vividly envisioning and experiencing an ideal Self who represents the positive changes they are seeking in their lives. This creates an intrinsic desire to change—not for external reasons, but for their own authentic wellbeing.
As I continue witnessing clients destroy outdated associations with unhelpful memories and embody helpful new resources on their own terms, I am constantly left in awe of the innate creativity, resilience, and healing potential that lives within each unique individual—just waiting to be activated.”
Dawn Tan, Senior Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Scientific Hypnotherapist
“Clients who have suffered from long-term pain and are ready to let go are often amazed at the outcome of their experience with Brain-Switch 2.0. They come into the room with tears, but leave with a sense of lightness, seeing hope and choices in their situation. As a therapist, I don’t need the full details of their pain or suffering. BrS2.0 provides a structured process where the client can decide what they want to let go of, without the need to disclose anything. This makes it a powerful tool that I can safely use with individuals, couples, and families.”
Bernard Lin, Counsellor
“My client shared with me that after the ‘dumping of rubbish’ activity in our session, his mind became incredibly clear. He had been feeling depressed after discovering that his wife had cheated on him. But after using Brain-Switch, he felt a remarkable shift. His mind was cleared, and he was able to confidently decide to go ahead with the divorce. He realized he wanted to focus on enjoying his life, thriving in his job, and pursuing investments. He stopped dwelling on the wife and the ongoing lawsuit. It was as if he suddenly became so self-motivated and focused on his own well-being. This transformation took just 30 minutes in the session. I honestly didn’t even know what to do with him for the next 30 minutes – he was already so empowered and clear-headed!”
Kelly Kan, Counsellor & Life Coach
“A client who had been presenting with anxiety symptoms and suicidal thoughts came to me today, and we worked through Brain-Switch together.
In her own words: ‘I felt so relieved after that, huge burden off, I realized it’s not the end of the world, the problem is not so big after all.’
It was incredibly touching to see her drop tears of relief and joy after the session and to hear those words from her.
A big thank you to @Joachim for your guidance in the supervision and for sharing your invaluable tips!”
Nicole Ting, Healer & Founder,Singapore Handsflow.com.sg
“I am deeply grateful for this process, especially for my client who is battling stage 4 cancer and lives with a stoma bag.
When I asked if any part of her was still holding on and not ready to let go, she placed her hands on her lower abdomen. After a brief pause, she gave a final ‘yes,’ signifying she was ready to release.
At the physiological level, her body responded by letting out gas—a powerful sign of letting go. It was truly a profound moment and a testament to how the process works on both the emotional and physical levels.”
Casey Yong, Counsellor
“In 2023, I had the privilege of experiencing a Brain-Switch 2.0 (BrS2.0) session with PBM Joachim, and it was nothing short of transformative.
The simplicity of the process created a safe and comforting space for me to release the chains of pain and despair that had been holding me back. When the session was over, I emerged liberated—free to design and live a life of my own choosing, without the burden of past struggles weighing me down.
Having undergone this profound shift, I am now a firm believer that BrS2.0 can be a game-changer in the healing journey. Since my own experience, I’ve been able to empower my clients in the same way, guiding them through their own breakthroughs with BrS2.0.
For each and every one of them, their stories have taken a new turn—a shift from darkness to renewal, from uncertainty to a deeper sense of self and purpose. The future is no longer just a distant hope or dream but something tangible—something they can step into and truly embody.
BrS2.0 has allowed us to tap into our core, realize our fullest potential, and manifest the lives we truly deserve. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have experienced the magic of BrS2.0, and even more so to be in a position to share this powerful tool with my clients.”
Adelyn Tan, Founder and Principal Psychotherapist@ HiDolphin Counselling Centre
“Brain-Switch 2.0 has been a transformative approach in my practice, particularly in reframing clients’ negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Its unique methodology provides effective techniques to help clients achieve their goals and create the quality of life they desire.
As a therapist, I find BrS2.0 invaluable in achieving therapeutic goals within a single session. It is a safe and effective tool to raise clients’ self-empowerment, allowing them to heal without needing to share their struggles or relive painful experiences. This creates a safe space for both the client and me, ensuring healing occurs without re-exposing them to distressing memories.
One of my 15-year-old clients shared her experience, saying, ‘I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel motivated to study and can now set realistic goals, unlike before.’ She also mentioned that when she feels overwhelmed in class, she practices Brain-Switch on her own, helping her regain focus and manage her emotions effectively. This technique empowers clients to become their own self-therapists, enabling them to navigate difficult situations, regulate their emotions, and prevent impulsive or harmful behaviors.
Additionally, BrS2.0 has been an essential self-care tool for me as a therapist. It allows me to regulate my emotions between sessions, quickly process previous sessions, and enter each new session with a fresh and focused mindset. It is a truly effective and safe approach for both clients and therapists alike.”
Jolene Chiang Art Psychotherapist
Integrating Brain Switch 2.0 into my clinical work has yielded remarkable transformation. In both individual and group settings within a hospital context, I’ve witnessed how this method can help to reduce re-traumatizing a client’s fear and freeze response.
In one-to-one sessions, clients who typically struggle with dissociation and immobilization begin to reclaim their voice, assertiveness, and spontaneity. Even laughter and candour came back online in trauma-impacted nervous systems. In groups, clients with adverse childhood experiences begin to develop new internal beliefs about their sense of self, regain a sense of agency and imagine future possibilities not accessible before.
Integrating art-making, clients were able to externalize internal states, with a visual representation of their strengthened ego. This symbolic image reinforces newly-formed neural pathways to facilitate lasting change. The images they created captured real-time psychological change that was observable in both their thoughts and artwork.
Brain Switch 2.0 has proven to be more than a technique. Joachim’s work is testament to the amazing power of the brain to rewire. Therapy need not be long and expensive. Brain Switch 2.0 effectiveness lies not only in symptom reduction but in reawakening the whole self: physiologically, emotionally, and creatively.
