ReAttach® Training

What is ReAttach®?

ReAttach® is a non-invasive, short-term intervention that focuses on optimizing stress, emotion regulation, and personal growth. Dr. Paula Zeestraten-Bartholomeus developed the method. She obtained her PhD in 2021 for practice-driven research into ReAttach as a transdiagnostic intervention at Maastricht University.

If you have clients who suffer from overstimulation, trauma, burnout, anxiety or somatic complaints, identity problems, or learning problems, then ReAttach® is for you. ReAttach® is:

Accessible

ReAttach® is a method in which your client does not have to talk, and it is not necessary to relive traumas or unpleasant events.

Short-term intervention

ReAttach® is a remarkable, fast-acting, proven method with an average of 5 treatments spread over three months.

Fast results

Clients experience a ‘clearer head’, fewer complaints and less stress after just a few sessions. Improve executive functions: they gain more overview and can organize and plan better.

Widely applicable

ReAttach® is used as a systemic intervention in children, young people, and adults with psycho-trauma, affect regulation disorders, attachment problems, psychosomatic complaints, and developmental disorders.

Personal growth

ReAttach® is an added value for anyone who wants to grow by dealing with unpleasant thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a positive way and focusing on what is important in life.

Basic Skills Training (3 days)

This course provides clinicians with the skills of ReAttach®- you will learn to optimise the learning conditions through the sensory processing technique, the SOPR model and Cognitive Bias Modification protocols.

Training overview

Day 1

The first part of the ReAttach® Protocol focuses on strengthening affective mentalizing under optimal alertness and Multiple Sensory Processing:

You will learn to optimize the processing of information, emotions and events in your clients with a technique that contains both body-oriented and psychological elements. You will then be trained in giving social cognitive training that helps clients to better organize their information.

Day 2

The second part of the ReAttach® Protocol will focus on Cognitive Bias Modification, proactive coping and activating new development opportunities:

You will receive the tools to help clients accept themselves and others and have a more positive outlook on life. In addition, you will be trained in activating the ability to actively tackle problems and grow in personal development.

Day 3

Use ReAttach® as a systemic intervention as additional expertise within your own field. The skills are automated and you learn to consciously apply ReAttach.

ReAttach® is a family intervention if you work with Children and Young People. For adults, it is wise to involve partners or informal caregivers. The third training day will teach you how to integrate ReAttach® into your current working method and in combination with other methods you use.

Sharing from Roxana (client): "When I first came to Joachim Lee, I didn’t know much about his approach or what to expect. All I knew was that he came highly recommended and had years of experience. At that point, I didn’t have any specific expectations—I was simply desperate for something to ease my ongoing battle with anxiety. The session itself was deeply emotional, and I left feeling lighter, as though a huge weight had been lifted from my body. In the days and weeks that followed, I began to notice subtle but powerful shifts: I felt more grounded, less irritable, and more at peace. I found myself setting boundaries with calm and confidence, something I had struggled with before. I was better able to be emotionally present for my children, helping them navigate and regulate their own emotions. Even though I was sleeping less than I had before, I didn’t feel constantly exhausted. I felt happier, more connected to the little joys around me. Now, over a month later, I haven’t experienced any anxiety or panic attacks. I’m forever grateful to Joachim Lee for helping me feel like myself again after so many years of struggle."
